More of a 4.5 stars for me! I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read the rest in this series! Unlike anything I've read before I really enjoy the characters and the story. Totally sucked in!

Ich habe die Obsidian-Reihe damals wie verrückt geliebt und da mein Gedächtnis nicht das beste ist, wollte ich meine Erinnerung wieder aufleben lassen mit der Hoffnung, die Bücher immer noch zu lieben. Und was soll ich sagen, zumindest Buch 1 konnte mich bisher immer noch abholen.
Was mir damals nicht so aufgefallen ist, dass das alles “Twilight” doch ziemlich ähnelt. Eigentlich vergleiche ich Bücher nicht gerne miteinander, aber ich denke, wenn man “Twilight” kennt, weiß man auch worauf man sich hier einlässt. Es ist auch ganz und gar kein negativer Vergleich. Der Vibe mit der Kleinstadt umringt von Wäldern, paranormale Wesen, die unter den Menschen leben und besondere Fähigkeiten haben, ist einfach total toll und cozy und auch teils nostalgisch.
Die paranormale Wesen, die hier vorkommen sind noch immer einzigartig und grob gesehen auch gut durchdacht. Nur manchmal hat man dann doch gemerkt, dass sich die Autorin bei bestimmten Angelegenheiten, die nicht logisch waren, oder wo man sich fragt, wie das funktionieren soll, rausgeredet indem selbst die Charaktere meinten, sie hätten keine Ahnung von Physik und wüssten daher nicht, wie das funktioniert. Aber hey, ist in Ordnung. Ich denke, man sollte wissen, dass man hier keinen Fantasy-Epos erwarten sollte.
Der Romance-Teil hat sich auch richtig gut eingefügt. Die Spannung zwischen Daemon und Katy war einfach knisternd und man konnte sie förmlich greifen. Die Autorin hat es gut hingekriegt die LeserInnen zu piesacken und immer nur Appetithäppchen vorzuwerfen :D
Dadurch, dass die Bücher auch relativ kurz sind, kommt man richtig gut durch und kann sie mal eben so weg lesen.

Casi había olvidado cuánto amaba este libro, el comienzo de todo. Lo amo. Amo a Kat, a Daemon y como su historia se va formando de a poco.

"No pude evitar pensar en lo que había oído mientras nuestros labios se rozaban. Sus labios eran increíblemente suaves y rebosaban ternura. Llegaban hasta mi interior y me desbocaban el corazón. Fue un gesto inocente, íntimo, que me quemó por dentro cuando inclinó mi cabeza hacia atrás y exploró mis labios como si fuera la primera vez que nos besábamos. Y quizá era así. Fue un beso de verdad."

This book took me forever to finish. The first half was mediocre and basic but the second half made up for it and held my attention. I actually liked Katy, but Daemon took time to grow on me. By the end of the book, I liked him well enough and I think I might read the next book. I feel like I would have LOVED this book if I read it 5-6 years ago.

Me encantó. La protagonista es graciosa y adora los libros, tanto así que tiene un blog sobre libros, ya por ese lado me tenía comprada. Sin mencionar que el protagonista es ufff! una combinación de encantado, arrogancia, fuerza y un físico de muerte ;) ;)
Este libro está lleno de conversaciones ingeniosas entre Katy y Daemon, tienen una relación de amor y odio donde la tensión sexual es palpable. Lo disfruté mucho. El único (minúsculo) fallo que le encontré fue algunas similitudes con Crepúsculo, aunque hubo par de escenas donde la autora jugó con esas similitudes y le hizo un guiño al lector, lo que le aplaudí.
Lo recomiendo, una lectura entretenida y aditiva. Me enganchó desde las primeras páginas.

This book was amazing. It was so good that I could not put it down. I would have read it in one day if I didn’t have work and a family to take care of. Can’t wait to read the rest of them in the series.

Meh... this used to be a 5-star read for me but rereading it several years later turned out to be a mistake. Daemon is a jerk and Kat a doormat. And the dialogue is so cringe.
