I definitely wouldn’t reread the series I thought the main character throughout the series lost character depth and I felt like the side character (Sagen) had more depth to her which I wish I got more to see of. I feel like the book should have been longer instead of cutting off important scenes and having more developed characters and plot. I did find the gods aspects interesting and the magic but the characters were all basic and the plot was solved so easily. Personally my favourite love interest was Lee and Alexander. I didn’t care for Ty at all.. he was annoying. Didn’t like the ending as well. *Spoiler** The whole 3 consorts thing at the end was not it... In conclusion, I’m disappointed but it wasn’t a terrible read. I will give this author another go maybe in the future but it’s not a priority.

I loved this book. The ending was as suspected, but it doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. All the Easter eggs and bread crumbs were very easily laid out. Not a lot of guess work. But the characters are *chef’s kiss*. I didn’t read the kindle unlimited version so I didn’t get the bonus chapter that really shows this book is a reverse harem. I’ll have to go back and finish that.

I was really curious how James would write herself and her characters out of the mess she left us with. But, the literal Cliffhanger from the last book was solved rather quickly, in an amazing and impressive way that truly made sense, and then the story rapidly raced towards the epic finale where all pieces of the puzzle came together.
In this book all three of the princes got their moment of glory, their moment to shine, but in the epic battle at the end, it was our lost heir that did all the hard work. I loved how our princess never really became a damsel in distress, even though she never shied away from asking help when she truly needed it either. I also loved how the princes each had their own talents and qualities and let everyone do what they were good at.
Just like the previous books from James there was also a really nice balance between the smutty scenes, the political scenes and the action scenes. Exciting moments, tender and intimate moments and clever plotting moments were mixed perfectly and this mix kept me on my toes as a reader. Not once during the story was I bored and I just wanted to read on and on and on until I reached the very end.
And maybe the thing I loved best in this story was the ending. It was not a classical "all is well and they lived happily ever after". The ending of the story was a promise. A promise that their happily ever after came a little more within reach. But they're not there yet. And therefore the ending was also another promise: A continuation is gonna come in 2020! I'm already really looking forward to it!

I kind of speed read this one since it had been a while since I was interested in the series and I didn't expect it to end well.
Surprisingly, it ended well! Actually a more believable ending than some of the fantasy/RH stories I have read lately.
The trials were brutal, in fact the whole story was a bit more brutal than I expected, but it worked.
Strong ending, and then it was kind of a reality check to reach the end and see the note from the author reminding us that this series had taken place over 3 weeks.
WHAT! I called a foul then and labelled it too Insta-love then. Its easy to forget how quickly the characters get together when the release dates take a year.
Oh well, I enjoyed the premise, the men were yummy, the love scenes well done and I guess they will all have to figure out how to share nicely...

Enjoyable and had a good time but not as strong of an ending as I would’ve hoped. The pacing was off in this book and the ending wasn’t as satisfying as I wished for. But the intrigue is there and they get a happily ever after enough. Glad I read the series as it’s helped me read in a slump but not my favourite of James’ work.

I was so freaking excited to dive into this damn book but that damn ending just disappointed me.
Heir was a pretty good book. Well, until the end. I am still mad that my twin freaking called things left and right before it was all revealed to my precious eyes. Yet, I was still in awe for most of this book. I thought it was interesting to add the mythological twist towards the end.. but now I'm even more intrigued in everyone's HEA. I really hope Tate does another book or maybe even a spin off series revolving around Sage? Ugh, I wish!
Other than all of that, I enjoyed the book to no end. The adventure, mystery, and magical aspects all drew me in. I just wanted everything to work out happily for all involved but of course there was some drama added for fun. After all of that, I got the more disappointing ending ever. It was just very anti-climactic for me and I honestly didn't know what to do with my life.
I'm a little sad but definitely look forward to my next book/series by Tate.
