As a huge Harry Potter fan, I was deeply disappointed in this book. I think the author did not know who their target audience was and therefore thought best to try to appeal to a broader audience with a lean towards kids. But honestly some things would not be interesting to small children and the activities sections with little art or sceince projects made the book feel too kiddy for an adult like me.

I don't think I would recommend this book to my son when he's older or to adults either. Don't read this book if you are hoping for more information on the items in the museum exhibit, as you will get barely any information.

The saving grace was the photography which was beautiful.

It's Harry Potter so sure it's going to get 5/5 stars.
I really loved this inside, quick behind-the-scenes book. It isn't really a book as it isn't a narrated story, there are just random bits of information thrown at you but I loved it anyway

This is a beautiful book, it details so much of the history of magic that influenced Harry Potter's world as well as a peek into early drafts, edits, and early doodles of the book. Even though I went to the exhibit I still read through this book cover to cover and really enjoyed it.

So who wants to take a trip with me to London so I can go visit this exhibit in person?????

I really enjoyed this book, but it wasn't COMPLETELY what I was expecting. I thought it was more of J.K. Rowling's personal notes and drawings. About half of the book WAS that, but the other half is an actual history of magic - ancient folklore and documents regarding magic in the real world. However, a lot of these old documents and stories were the inspiration behind much of Rowling's work, so that was cool to see too. I think I would appreciate it much more if I could see the exhibit in person, and not just on page.
