Man, I liked this one (and parts of it are laugh out loud funny (Lucille coming in from the harvest was good enough I tried to retell the joke when telling people about this book)), but I have no idea who I'd give it to. The plot is a little heavier than the synopsis lets on, but I think that's necessary to understand what happens next. Probably best for late high school or adults who like YA. Also, I am not 100% sure the cover matches the characters. Winona is a ginger and Lucille is described as having blonde hair so who is the brunette on the cover?

A modern and very feminist take on the popular story of Thelma & Louis. A boy was it a story. It has everything from emotional abuse/manipulation, to true friendship (literally the ride or die type), to sexual awakening, to family, to loss, to discovering who the fuck you are!

Winona and Lucille are an unlikely pair but honestly true female friendship with a side of badassery always prevails. I loved everything about this road trip gone wrong then gone right novel about these two fantastically written girls and an amazing adventure that I both hope and never hope to ever have! Brilliant for anyone who is a fan of the hit movie Thelma and Louise but also in for the type of novel you’ll never read and have never read before!

Favourite quote: "She hated that they had to keep going, but as long as they went together, it would be okay."

Got tired of everything always going wrong. Good book; just not what I wanted after a while.

3.47/5 - This was a fun little book generally unserious and had a fun little foil between two girlies who find themselves in a situation together despite their backgrounds. I went out on a whine for this book and expected not to like it (especially around 65% ish). It had all the elements of something I wouldn’t like or that would develop in a weird way. However, the way it was written and the pacing actually allowed me to enjoy it and the feel like it wasn’t just dummies in the wild. (This is a poor review but I think I’m having an allergic reaction??)

It was a cute, easy read! But had a few darker topics in it
