Juicy slice of life. Funny, sad, odd and fizzing with shrugs.

Very Bukowski, which makes it hard to rate. Certainly art in the sense that it's pure expression; other people could mimic the style on the surface, but this came from that man's soul. Which is ultimately very depressing, so despite the vileness I mostly just felt sad.

The “every-man” novel elevated by my own personal affinity towards the monotony of postal work, it’s more dated features slightly detract from what would otherwise be a deeply impactful story following the empty years of life.

Bukowski found women who were the exact same nature as him, in this autobiographical work most of the woman he encounters are not right in their heads. They are drunkards, always either thinking about fuck or sleeping idle or constantly goes through sick relationships... Although I find his poems to be more interesting, I think that's where he excelled.

This a not "bad" in any way, but I think Bukowski is overrated as a Novelist, his poems though are epic in its rawness and the portrayal of everyday Life. Here i felt like the magic was missing.

Definitely can skip this one.
