3.5. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the hometown girl, and so is the MMC apparently. The dual perspective of this book adds to the mis/lack of communication trope in a refreshing way. Each internally believing that the other isn't truly interested, but we get to read about all of the emotions they refuse to share with each other.

The resolution is a bit cheesy, but how else do you end a book with a former baseball pro proposing to a clown?

.

A really sweet romance with a lot of smutty bits and a great set of side characters. I loved the crush from afar hero worship that turned into such a solid, kind relationship and how the two characters really grew and developed together throughout the story. I also loved that she is straight up unapologetically a children’s party clown. Just such a weird and fun career choice. It did make me feel reaaaallly old when Georgie wore her class of 2012 shirt....

This book was exactly what I needed- Spicy and hilarious! I loved:
*** Brother's Best Friend Trope
*** Fake relationship
*** Childhood crush to adult lover
*** Georgie and Travis's hilarious banter
*** The Spice!
*** The Just Us Club
*** The dirty talk
*** Travis's realizing his worth
*** How Georgie's confidence growth

I wouldn't change a thing about this book. It was such an enjoyable read!

God, all the men in this book were kind of dicks! Georgie's dad and brother, Stephen, treated her like she was a child, as did Travis through a lot of it. Stephen wasn't a very good brother to his two sisters, or a very good friend to Travis, near the end. Dominic was kind of a shitty husband to Rosie. Travis' dad was a crap father. If it wasn't for all the amazing women, I don't know if I would have liked this. But, I did like it, although it's my lowest rated Tessa Bailey book.
