This book follows Calder who is looking for a no-strings date to his brother's tropical wedding in Mexico. He ends up sharing a room with his sister-in-law's fiery best friend and his enemy Dakota. They embark in an "enemies with benefits" relationship to help Dakota move on after her divorce and embrace her sexuality.

This is the second book in an interconnected series following 3 brothers and their love stories. I did enjoy Calder as an MMC, he is very protective of Dakota. He has some very cringy one-liners that were hard to look past. Dakota is struggling to accept her body after her divorce. I appreciate that all of the FMCs are regular sized or plus-sized bodies. I would have loved for her body type to not be the main part of the story, it felt to me at times she was over-sexualized to prove that body type is sexy. I did enjoy their banter and I liked the progression of their relationship.

I don't think I am the intended audience for this series, I have seen a lot of positive reviews these stories are just not for me. I would check content warnings but if you enjoy spicy books about grumpy men with an interconnected series, this may be for you!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for my eARC!

Sex club was not mentioned in the book description or marketing materials. Also, the random perspective of the niece of the main male character weirded me out given the unusual graphic sexual content of the book.

Another cute installment to the series. The miscommunication parts felt a little forced and I’m still annoyed with Everly’s meddling, but other than that it was a cute and fun read!

Loved seeing Calder & Dakota get past their insecurities & figure things out. Seeing them find themselves & each other was so much fun!

I absolutely loved this and had such a great time from start to finish! I began listening to it after a really bad morning where I’d been so stressed and crying, and this INSTANTLY had me smiling and boosted my mood so much! True story!

I really loved the first book, so was excited to delve into this instalment especially as its main focus was around Calder who is so funny.

Calder on paper is such a ‘lad’ and someone you’d think you’d hate. He objectifies women, sleeps around and doesn’t want to commit BUT he has a heart of gold and so much emotional intelligence, you just can’t help but love him! It was so great to learn more about him, his insecurities and passions. He absolutely had me in stitches with some of the things he’d say, but then he’d come out with something so moving and profound too. He was so endearing and caring towards Dakota even though they were ‘enemies’. The fact he is a cat daddy aswell is just too adorable.

Dakota had been through the ringer with her douche of an ex-husband and there were some really harsh and heartbreaking things she put up with, so her growth in this book was really great and emotional- and it was all because of Calder, who not only pushed her out of her comfort zone, but made her feel safe enough to do so. Ah man, ok, I might be a little bit in love with Calder lol.

Amy Daws has such a way with humour in her writing. The banter was top notch and these books are genuinely some feel good fun whilst also getting you in the feels. I cannot wait for Luke’s story in the next instalment!

I also have to give a shout out to Teddy Hamilton for his narration because he absolutely MADE Calder’s character come to life and I can’t imagine anyone else voicing him.

I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a light, fun read that brings the 🔥 but also some laughs and heart.
