I absolutely loved this and had such a great time from start to finish! I began listening to it after a really bad morning where I’d been so stressed and crying, and this INSTANTLY had me smiling and boosted my mood so much! True story!
I really loved the first book, so was excited to delve into this instalment especially as its main focus was around Calder who is so funny.
Calder on paper is such a ‘lad’ and someone you’d think you’d hate. He objectifies women, sleeps around and doesn’t want to commit BUT he has a heart of gold and so much emotional intelligence, you just can’t help but love him! It was so great to learn more about him, his insecurities and passions. He absolutely had me in stitches with some of the things he’d say, but then he’d come out with something so moving and profound too. He was so endearing and caring towards Dakota even though they were ‘enemies’. The fact he is a cat daddy aswell is just too adorable.
Dakota had been through the ringer with her douche of an ex-husband and there were some really harsh and heartbreaking things she put up with, so her growth in this book was really great and emotional- and it was all because of Calder, who not only pushed her out of her comfort zone, but made her feel safe enough to do so. Ah man, ok, I might be a little bit in love with Calder lol.
Amy Daws has such a way with humour in her writing. The banter was top notch and these books are genuinely some feel good fun whilst also getting you in the feels. I cannot wait for Luke’s story in the next instalment!
I also have to give a shout out to Teddy Hamilton for his narration because he absolutely MADE Calder’s character come to life and I can’t imagine anyone else voicing him.
I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a light, fun read that brings the 🔥 but also some laughs and heart.

Narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon.
These are two of my absolute favorite narrators so when I saw they were doing this book I immediately signed up.
Amy Daws is a fun author. She always makes me laugh out loud and this story was no exception. If anything, I laughed even harder listening to it than I would have reading it.
From the VERY beginning I was cracking up.
Calder’s Tinder profile was so funny I had tears running down my face. Here are some highlights:
- Height: 6'3" at the doctor, 6'5" at the bar
- Size: Not as big as my brother Luke’s but honorable mention
- What I do on a typical day: Mountainside strolls with my cat strapped to my chest.
- I once had a girl hold the door open for me, and afterward I asked her, “What are we?”
- If you like the taste of my potent onion, swipe right and let’s giggle and make some soup together.
I mean COME ON. THATS JUST THE PROLOGUE.
For the most part the book was a fun, chaotic mess but sometimes it leaned way too far into the chaos.
Dakota truly just comes off as unhinged and unlikable most of the time. You would think she’s like 15 with the way she behaves. Calder isn’t off the hook there either. The enemies part of their enemies to lovers was honestly too much a lot of the time. I had to remind myself how old they were supposed to be.
Thank you to Harlequin Audio for the ALC.

very good enemies to lovers - the bickering hit the spot and the way they continued to argue while falling for each other is exactly what i like to see. writing was a lottie redundant in places but i liked the story
