Shortly before beginning this book, I read (and loved!) Bold They Rise, the other space shuttle-focused book in the Outward Odyssey series. It pains me to say, but I don't feel that Wheels Stop lived up to my expectations. In addition to what I felt was a somewhat disjointed narrative structure, I came across several factual errors.
With that being said, there are myriad anecdotes contained within this book that I delighted in reading, and Houston's love and reverence for human spaceflight and NASA shined through in a way that I loved. I can't say that I would wholeheartedly recommend this book, but I certainly wouldn't caution people to stay away from it either.

I enjoyed this one just a bit less than its later companion volume, simply because I find the early Shuttle history more interesting.

This book 100% needed 2 things, 1: footnotes, so often a personal account from an astronaut was written with no way to quickly refrence what text was being cited. 2: chronological order, it was extremely hard to follow when the book would jump back and forth on missons to highlight diffrent things.
