This has been a rather bumpy ride from the last three part. I expected a little more happy moments from this one but well, it is what it is. The flow of the book was smooth and engaging but the plot and the way it thickened and them playing along even knowing it isn't right was a little off putting and at places felt like a drag. a little loss of words while reviewing this.
And the ending....THE ending flipped the entire scene over and re-cooked everything that was fascinating and was a much needed hiccup for the book to make its mark as the final book in the series
⭐:3/5

Wtf was this???
25% DNF because I was so bored I don't even care about how it ended.
I went into the first 50 pages expecting a lot of angst and exciting buildup.
What did I get? Nothing. What I got instead was the urge to rewrite this book entirely myself, having to resist rolling my eyes every time anyone talked, and sighing every time Kai was mentioned.
We get it Paedyn, you want to be with him. But this forced angst of having to "pretend" whilst literally making out with eachother ten minutes later was sooo pointless.
"let's pretend" even though everybody already knows we love eachother. "let's pretend" and not be subtle at all. "let's pretend" and not actually face the consequences. Cause where the stakes???
It wasn't in Kai and Paedyn having to stay away (because they wouldn't) it wasn't in the complicated politics and the arranged marriage story line (because in 170 it barely progressed). And it definitely wasn't in the side characters (because they barely showed up.)
I'm so disappointed in this book 😔

I kinda hated this. “I’m engaged to someone else but I’ll just put my engagement ring on my right hand” 🤡 are you kidding?!?!? I was rolling my eyes at the ending, the family tree stuff was like a terrible plot. “My father wasn’t my real father” multiple times and it was confusing.
I was really disappointed with book #3 and I wasn’t happy with any of the characters 😭 It was so long and dragged out and I’m giving it a generous 2-stars but it was probably a 1-star…:

The last third of the book had me sobbing but also ??!?!?!
4.5 ⭐️ This was an emotional roller coaster & I loved it
*spoiler* - Pae should have been the one to end as the sole Queen tho w/o needing to have a king!
