Given the hype . . . disappointing. Slow start, great middle, lackluster end. I never really felt invested in the characters, so the end of the book didn't have any real emotional impact on me. The story was interesting until the last 60 pages or so. At that point you have pretty clear idea about what will happen,  land there aren't any real surprises. Should have been darker throughout,  and I think would have benefitted from that.

Proud of myself for finishing this monster of a book! And wow was it worth it!!! The story is so well rounded. It’s a lot of world building and parts did get a little slow
