I have so enjoyed this series of paranormal romance stories in New Orleans--land of all things spooky--, and I am thrilled to know there will be a spin-off because I am not ready to say goodbye to the crew of Haunted New Orleans. We met the sweet witch Birdie in the previous novels this is her story.

Her backstory involves a cult under the control of a maniacal leader who steals the power of others to control. Birdie refuses and runs away to hide and build a new life for herself with a new name. Due to a series of coincidences (?) Birdie has a reunion with her childhood best friend Kholt. What ensues is two friends uncovering the love that has always been there.

Once again, we get a delightful side story of one of the historic sites in New Orleans that has you Googling where they are so you can see where the story is taking place. All this just adds dimension to the action taking place between the characters. Ghosts reveal secrets of how diabolical the cult leader is and what lengths he will go to protect his "power." All culminating in a very satisfying ending.

Haunted New Orleans has been a great series and an enjoyable book to close it out. I am happy to know there will be a spinoff to keep us involved with the Haunted New Orleans crew for several upcoming books.

Confession- I picked up Mea Culpa because i wanted some more October magical vibe reads in my life. Not realizing this was book 3 in a series! Oops!

But TBH- i was not disappointed! I loved this Haunted New Orleans Novel, with a little cult talk, magic, and a second chance romance!

Blurb-
Larken Maynard knows fear. Though not the kind she's experienced while working as a paranormal investigator on the hit show, Haunted New Orleans. Her terror stems from the sadistic, manipulative group who held her hostage for most of her life. Those who condemned her for her natural-born gifts.

Kholt Leroy has never really known anything but Balance of Light. They are his family, his friends. He always wondered why his best friend disappeared, and he's missed her greatly...for far too long. So, when he runs into her again, he's thrilled. Unfortunately, he's unprepared for what he finds. She's not the person he remembers, and the stories she tells flips his entire world on its axis. Now, he must decide between the woman he has always cared about and the only family he's ever known.

⭐️looking forward to going back and reading the full series from the beginning!!
