Reign & Ruin is a romantic fantasy steeped in complex politics and magnificent character design.
It’s obvious why this book was able to win SPFBO 7; it was masterfully written with incredible characters and a beautifully imagined world. I was hooked from the beginning and became invested in the characters almost upon meeting them. And, because there’s nowhere else to put this, the inside artwork for the book is delightful; I loved the page banners.

The best romantasy book I've ever read.
Finally a female main character who is witty, intelligent and acts like a grown-up.
Usually I find the FMCs in romantasy highly annoying, childish and cannot relate to them at all. Naime is so different and refreshing to read.
That goes for the other characters as well...fantastically written and lots of depth and backstory.
The magic system is creative, new and I was totally intrigued.
I'm not gonna go into details on the spice, but believe me when I say that it was just perfectly used in the story. It's a very slow burn, but that makes it all the more delicious🔥
The prose is beautiful and the dialogs were right up my alley with a lot of banter, but also intelligent.
Go and read this book - you'll not regret it!

okay this started off slow due to the world building, but it was worth it! soooo interesting. love reading about the culture. after i got to the 50% mark i couldn’t put it down !!!! so looking forward to reading the rest of the series
