A lot of people who didn’t like the book seem to be super scandalized over the stalking, SA, human trafficking, the Stockholm Syndrome (or whatever tf was wrong with Addie) etc. None of that phased me. I just didn’t love the book. I didn’t hate it, but it was a bit too predictable for me. The sex was meh. The writing was just okay, and the whole thing was a little.. weird. And I love weird. I didn’t care for the ending and didn’t feel like it was quite the cliffhanger that it was made out to be. BUT.. that’s not to say that I won’t someday read the second book. It’s a light read that doesn’t require a lot of brain power so maybe I’ll save it for a day at the beach… but I’m not scrambling to download the next one.
