Two humans, a werewolf, and vampires board a spaceship with a medical steward, what could go wrong?? LOVED this storytelling and the multiple POVs. Is it funny or scary that machines and humans are a good team?
Extremely cool and fun premise, several glimmers of greatness, but fell short a bit on execution for me. It felt like "this happened then this happened then this happened" instead of a linear, cohesive story, and I never felt like the found family was earned because I didn't really get to know the characters and see their relationships develop beyond a few quick scenes. It just needed polish. That said, I loved the concept and I would read this author again!

This is an amazing book. The mashup of old school monsters with sci-fi adventure and a dash of cozy at times was a very welcoming environment for me.
I almost didn't pick this book up because of the cover, not because it is poorly design, quite the opposite, but because I had just finished reading "The Ministry of Time". They have similar covers, so I had assumed they were related, and I did not enjoy that book at all. The reason I picked it up was because of a book club, and thank goodness for that.
I going the whole narrative fully engaging. The characters have so much depth and are so unique. I love the humanity of everyone, even though there are very few humans as the focus.
It isn't really a cozy kind of book, but there are some cozy moments in it. Sometimes that means there are no surprises, but not here. I really enjoyed how it was all out together and how it came to an end.
Will done everyone who worked on this, I look forward to more from this author and team.
