I picked up this book looking for some Halloween shenanigans', and while this book did not provide what I was looking for, it was still a rather interesting read.

I enjoyed the world of magic that the author built (even if it hit a little too close to home in todays political climate) and the mix of pop culture and techno and witchcraft from Binx was perhaps my favorite part of the book.

I couldn't help but think though that the girls were a little too naïve for their age. As sophomores in high school doing illegal witchcraft I felt they should have been FAR more careful with their secret than they were. It was very frustrating to me to hear them talk about how important it is to fly under the radar, and then cast magic willy nilly at every turn.

While I didn't dislike the book, I am unsure that I will be reading any sequels.

this was gearing to be a solid 3.5 read but that rushed extremely anti-climatic ending knocked it back to a rounded 3 stars status. very low-effort entertaining read, a diverse cast, and a fun ride though I think the book should have been longer and would have benefitted from taking its time to develop certain characters/aspects of the story more. Still a nice lgbt teeny witchy fix!

It took me about half the book to really get into it, but once I did it took off! I was really hopeful but as I neared the end I had this feeling there wasn’t enough time to wrap it up. I didn’t think there was a sequel and it doesn’t seem like there is a continuation (yet?) but the end was just disappointing. A few hints were left to tie up loose ends but nothing was wrapped up enough. Every character felt like there needed more explanation for either their backstory or what happened next, even if there was a continuation out it didn’t feel like a good end to a first in a series. I have hope that there will be more because I enjoyed the characters though

It was alright. It was okay through most of it, but then it didn't really have an ending? I got to the epilogue and was super confused, I thought I missed something. I get not wanting to wrap everything up so you can have a sequel, but this didn't wrap anything up. It left me super unsatisfied.
