Loved this book, it’s so wholesome and beautifully written - reminded me of why I love my home so much, and was beautiful and inspiring to follow the stories of Colin and Mary showing that if you believe you can get better.

I haven't read very many classics but the ones that I have are all fabulous!

This was preciousness in a book. Beautiful in every word. Definition cozy read. Truly magical.

I like this book more as an adult than I did when I was younger. I used to be a bit bored, but now I can imagine walking in the garden and want one of my own.

I first introduced to the Secret Garden at school, I remember the teacher reading this to us in class and being absolutely mesmerised with the world of Mary Lennox. Orphaned after her parents die in an epedemic in India where she has been brought by servants, she is forced to move to London into the care of her Uncle. She arrives a spoilt brat, hating everything and everyone around her. Basically once again left to fend for herself as her reclusive Uncle is either away on business or locked up in his study. Mary begins to explore the surroundings of her new home, leading to her discovery of the 'Secret Garden'

The book takes you on a journey of Mary learning to love, grow and strike up amazing friendships especially with Dicken and Colin, her cousin who has been locked in the house due to being a sickly child....which he then turns out not to be.

Mary brings to the house to life and garden to life. The book is bursting with love and magic which makes it still nearly 20 years on my favourite book, a book that I can read and re-read never getting bored, and never fails to leave me with a heavy heart. A must for adults and children alike.
