This was such an adorable book and it carries a very important lesson that not a lot of people focus on anymore.

dnf. the racism took away every bit of magic and whimsical-ness that was supposed to surround the story and without all that it wasn’t interesting

And this is clearly an unpopular opinion.

I thought it was interesting to see the writing style from this time but I hope no one is still reading this with their children. I also cannot believe how literate children were at this time to be reading this book. I hated reading the Yorkshire accent although I did think it was unique.
