These books are just fun, quick reads. The characters are great. You have to wonder why BFE Wyoming is suddenly murder central, but an author's gotta do what an author's gotta do. It was especially nice to see the author avoid his usual trick of having a character suddenly have a second name that we didn't know about earlier which then makes the puzzle click together.

My favorite of the series so far, Another Man's Moccasins takes us through Walt's latest case and weaves in his very first, during the Vietnam war. I though Johnson did a great job of linking the two stories together, especially through some slick transitions. I also enjoyed the fact that this book focused a bit less on the supporting characters and more on Walt and the two cases. Also, the fact the Vietnam narrative adds some great backstory to Walt and some of the overarching plot points brought into play in the previous novel were well developed here. All in all a great Longmire book. I look forward to starting the next one tomorrow.
