Although the plot is extremely convoluted and hard to follow, the author has clearly done a lot of research into the era he's reanimating and included a lot of nice vivid sensory detail.

It is an interesting book with an idea that is like - what if Hitler had won the war.

On its own a thriller and a mystery with interesting story. Mixing it with history was good idea but in the end an average execution.

It seems like author rushed the end and was himself struggling on how to tie all the parts.
Still must say is a good story to read

I absolutely loved this book. The notion of a detective mystery in 1964 Nazi Germany was already good enough but the execution was perfect. Really interesting and tense and learnt a lot about the systems and the hierarchy of the would be “successful” regime. Really good, and a quote by an SS officer (from real life) about history and how we forget and can call truths propaganda and how dangerous the mistelling of history can be.

Some people have qualms with the love story, I do not. If I’m a detective who’s world is going to hell and a fit American woman is helping me along, of course I’m going to want in on her and it was relatively natural (albeit a bit cliche at times)

Very cool premise, especially with some characters being real people.
Loved the ending. It really picked up in the last 150 pages which I sped through.
Shoutout the boy who lent me this book

Rounding up to 2 stars because I like the premise. I listened to the audiobook and maybe that was the problem; it was a bit confusing. The audiobook starts out like a radio program and sounds like one throughout. It’s also very short, the main character very one dimensional. I wish there were more details, I like the alternate reality books, but we really knew no details about the time in the story.
