Not my favorite of Robert Harris books but it was still entertaining. I suspected what the main topic was going to be about, it’s not difficult to imagine what it would be about when it’s a story in which Nazi Germany won the war. Not much ti say about this book other than this: I finished yet another Robert Harris book and was glad when I was done.✅

It says that this book is a thriller, but at the end I believe this book is about love. There's no way that Harris will write the ending like that and says it's not a romance book.
an alternative history mystery/thriller, none of which are genres i tend to read, but that i ended up thoroughly enjoying. the pace starts off slow but rapidly picks up speed and tension. the characters are maybe not the most fleshed-out but are very much serviceable for the story which kept me engaged throughout!

This was my first Robert Harris. I found the prose very readable, it was fascinating to explore an alternative history and it was obvious a lot of research had gone into this.
I found the mystery intriguing and that kept me reading but I found the novel quite cold and struggled with the main protagonist.
I think I'd have got through this quicker if I'd felt differently about the characters. But I will definitely be reading more of Harris' works.

I really enjoy learning about WWII so I figured this would be a sure bet for me. What I didn't expect, was to be reading this thinking "wow this is powerful fiction" to realise how much of it was based on fact.
This is an amazing book. I loved it (hence the 5 stars). Recomend for anyone who likes WWII history, or basically just a bloody good read.

Would recommend this book to anyone, kept me in suspense till he very end, well written and good setting in an alternate timeline
