The story was more of a mystery than a deep dive on the world that was built and gave me ‘Girl with the dragon tattoo’ vibes in places, which I was a fan of.
It feel like the kind of book that would be quickly turned into a film or Tv series but I don’t think it has been, which is odd?

There are many books written with the alternative history of an Axis victory in World War 2. This is the best I have read so far. The book reads like a murder mystery investigation and gradually the plot thickens like a slow cooked stew. The setting, the real characters being dramatised all work perfectly. Robert Harris is the master of the thriller. Its not a Le Carré slow burn nor does it have the action packed kick of a Lee Child book. But Harris never disappoints. So far each of his books have been a terrific read. This one is one of his best.
