Not the kind of book I normally read, but I read a great short story by Robert Harris once -- the excellent "PMQ" about scandalous events involving a prime minister from the Nick Hornby-edited "Speaking With The Angel" -- and decided to give this a try. Overall this was a good read. It's a detective novel set in Germany in the 1960s under a hypothetical world in which the Nazis were not defeated in WWII, and many of their crimes were not discovered. Harris writes well, and the book is definitely a page turner.

Difficult to read at parts, because of the subject matter, not the writing. Very entertaining book and should definitely be turned into either a TV series or a film (if it hasn't been already, I don't know). I think I may need something slightly lighter for my next read
The premise is interesting and the world building is good, but beyond that it's a pretty dull thriller and I got really bored with the plot and characters, and abandoned it more than half-way through
I liked this book. It's quite interesting train of thought about what the world would be like if the Germans had won world war 2.
An intriguing read that kept me good company on a transatlantic flight. What makes me give it 3 stars instead of 4 is that it can be a bit predictable at times and there are some parts that drag slightly. But overall, I enjoyed this and would recommend it to fans of thrillers and alt-history.
"A police state is a country run by criminals."

Nazi Noir + alternative historical fiction is an interesting mix of genres. It's my birthday and late, so I'll review this tomorrow. If Gestapo dreams don't get me. But for now, Robert Harris is definitely a guilty pleasure.
