SO. MUCH. BETTER. Than the first one. The plot actually felt believable. And Rhys was a much better MMC. There was one spicy scene where I had a ‘cringe’ moment but that was personal tastes and nothing against the writing. I can’t wait to read Jules/Josh’s book next.

Ana Huang's writing always reminds me why I love romance so much. She is one of the many writers who have made me a lover of fictional men written by women. These types of stories are of course fiction (I mean c'mon princess and bodyguard? I will eat that up every single time), but I love getting lost in it. The passion and build-up in these types of romances are my favorite, especially when they are written so well.
The plot immediately pulled me in and I just wanted to know that no matter what Rhys and Bridget were gonna be okay. I actually was shocked with some of the twists in the story that I was not expecting. I will say I have never been a fan of "insta love" so the first few pages I wanted to grab Rhys and just say "OKAY. Let's calm down for a bit okay, hold your horses. You made eye contact for 4 seconds, let's rein that back in." I loved Bridget as a character so much and that she wasn't just all talk. Rhys - oh come on. Such an ideal man - we love to see it. I ALSO LOVED SEEING THE ALEX AND AVA CRUMBS TOWARDS THE END OF THE BOOK. Wish Alex got along better with the girlies, but it's fine. They'll get better.
Overall, 4/5!
Just gonna end this review with my favorite quote that left me gasping for air:
"It’s not that I didn’t believe in love before. It’s that I was saving it all for you."
Literally punching the air still.
