Absolutely terrible. I’m shocked at how much I hated this. Possibly the most sexist thing I’ve ever read. All the women in this novel were nothing more than sex objects for our gunslinger. Very little happened. Boring and slow moving and uncomfortable.

I am seeing people say to continue because the rest of the series is better, but I’m not sure I want to bother with that kind of trust when I hated this so much.

I don't know. I have heard great things about this series but I found this first book, for the most part, boring. Near the end it started to pick up but I guess I was a bit confused by the ending. It's not too long and I am listening so I will try the next book and hopefully it is better.

Legendary opening line, followed by a gruelingly slow 225 pages, then came in for the kill in the final 25. Curious enough to dive in for 4,000+ more pages? Doubtful. Godspeed, Gunslinger.
