This was a big DNF

If you like books with grown men swearing at little girls, then this is a must read. The books reads like a 7th grader who just discovered the f word.

I can't do it. I've tried and tried and I've reached almost to the halfway point and I just can't anymore. This book has a lot of 5 star reviews but it's just not for me. It's not badly written, it's just not something I can get into or enjoy. It picked up around the 200 page mark but then rapidly went back to being too slow to get into. It's a did not finish, from me.

The first 75% of this book largely felt like set up. The last 25% was a solid 10/10, in principle. I completely did not see the series of twists happening at this point coming.

However:

1) I don’t value a cliffhanger ending in general, but certainly not in a book this big. Too many threads were left unresolved and I don’t like that this is used to hook readers into committing to the second book in the trilogy.

2) Certain dynamics to do with a relationship involving height and age are not my cup of tea.
