Laura is a soft girl who cries a lot. That is very relatable to me and I’m here for it. Killian is a dick, I did not care for him

I think this series just isn’t for me anymore. I didn’t love the writing and found the MMC irritating.

I wanted this to be sooo good. The hype was there from the first book but it didn’t deliver. I’m actually just mad that he treated her that way and she all of a sudden was in love with him. Nah. He needed to work for it more.

It also annoyed me that everything was repeated so many times. We get that he’s pissed about not being picked for president. I don’t need to read about it every few chapters. The space should have been used for some groveling.

I did love him but the way the book was laid out irked me. He had pretty worlds though:
"Your eyes..." He panted. "They're Cinderella blue. The unreal kind that baits princes into giving up their crowns and tossing kingdoms on their head, looking for a goddamned shoe. That dude was fucked the second he saw her, and I never understood it. Not until now."

wow did this book grab me by the throat! and. I loved it all.

Enemies to lovers - Killian and his Daisy (Laura) - I mean real, true, enemies. He’s awful to Laura, so hurtful with his words, but as we learn more about his history, his demons, you can’t help by fall for the new President of the Stone Riders MC. And neither can Laura.

This book continues plot points from book 1 so I highly suggest reading that one first to get the full enjoyment from this story. There’s possible cliffhangers in this book so be prepared to want to run and read book 3. Immediately! I am.

Laura and Killian need each other, and I loved their slow realization of that fact. There’s so much to this story, her background in family politics, his with a murderous father and becoming the new club president, her reluctance about what all that means, danger lurking everywhere, so much story and I loved it all.

They are total opposites. But exactly right for each other.

Now, onto book 3!

I love this series so much. So far the books have been full of angst and tension, which is exactly what I’m looking for.

It can be difficult with MC romances, full of quintessentially morally grey characters and some less-than-feminist ideas; and yet.. it’s such an exciting world and I love the found family aspect

I am eagerly awaiting Silas’ book but also have high hopes for Jameson’s story, especially after the last line in this book (IYKYK)

4.5 out of 5 stars
-book one was good but this one was so much better!
-can’t wait to read the third book in the series! The fourth and final book in this series comes out late July 2024 (later this month)
-the only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that I don’t care for flashbacks and this book had them. The flashbacks were from ‘3 months ago’ during the first book and since I just read the first book it repeated some of it.
