I read this book for a book club I’m in…that was my only motivating factor to finish the book. While aspects of the plot were interesting and important and fun, I greatly disliked this book. I found myself turning the pages just to get to the end, but in no way did I find this book to be a “page-turner”. I wanted to like it based on the premise but definitely did not work for me.

it was an interesting concept and i wish it would have leaned into the cultish aspect of the society of shame but it was just sooooooo repetitive and boring at some points and im sorry but she is a terrible mother lmao like i was sooooooo annoyed by her!!!!! anyways i wish it was better

Couldn’t stand anyone but the daughter and friend in this book, and I’m mad I bothered to read it.

Funny and enjoyable at times, but too long and a little too heavy-handed.
