What a book! Fantastically dense and difficult to penetrate. This one is definitely a hoe-scarer. There's not a lot of guidance in the many characters and ideas this book expresses. Also for the love of god don't have this be your first Vonnegut lol
I haven’t read this book since the first time I read it back in college. I have to say, in 2021 it’s very difficult for me to empathize with psychologically-damaged white cisgendered males.
Granted, this satire is a product of its time (1972). I guess I was just disappointed that the story just didn’t hold up for me today. Maybe next time?

There were definitely interesting parts but for the most part I felt like it was just a man yammering at me
Vonnegut is amazing but wow his book is weird and dated. It’s also essential and amazing.
