I listened to the audiobook version so I could hear Lauren's narration of her own words. I had not read her first book yet so I wasn't sure what to expect from her. I really enjoyed her book. She told charming stories of her life while not going too deep into the persona lives of others. I enjoyed the realness of her and it was short and sweet. I will also likely look up her first book. She recommended Carrie Fisher's novels, so I'll look into those, too.

I’ve been a distracted listener lately, through no fault of Lauren Graham’s. But that’s what makes reading short essays like hers better (maybe? Jury’s still out) – it doesn’t require the full focus of a novel, the vignettes are short and sweet, and we get to hear her humor throughout. I will admit, I wanted to hear more about her time with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, as I absolutely loved that show. “Old Lady Jackson” and “Lady Marmalade” were fun, then there was her experiences at Barney’s New York from being a floor person to shopping there herself before it closed. Several essays offered a sort of coming full circle, from “then” to “now” and what came in between. Funny how life is like that, isn’t it?

Lauren Graham is a great narrator. This book is exactly as the title states, Some "stories". Just her thoughts written down. I listened as an audiobook and would suggest it if you would like to hear ramblings of another person. It made great background noise at my office.
