This book was better than the first (this is the second I read). I still don't appreciate how focused Nikki is on MacKenzie and I wish she would just move on and focus on herself, but it is completely realistic.

This series is very popular with our middle grade readers so I thought I would give it a try. Since I haven't read any of the other Dork Diaries books, I had no context for previous plot points the book mentioned but I could still figure out the story. I can see why these books are popular but I probably won't read anymore of them. Overall cute story!

The scene where the puppies first came to Nikki and Brianna's house while their parents were at the movies was so funny! Nikki needs to stop lying all the time though.

I feel like the main character Nikki Is very friendly because I feel like she likes everyone except for Makkenzie. She has a crush on a kid named Brandon  he has a good personality because he's kind to everyone he doesn't seem like there someone he doesn't like. Nikki's friends are Chole and zoey there really sweet. her sister is very enthusiastic she draws very poorly and annoys Nikki a lot  bat in the end they still love each other.
