The first 1/3 of the book was annoying, but once the story got going, the rest was just fine. Fun fact: Egyptology is boring. Or maybe people who talk about Egyptology nonstop are boring.

Such a beautifully well written book on love, death, time and regret. Was confused at first at the different time lines but soon got on board with it. I found the main character interesting. So often female characters in books always do the “right” thing or the thing which is considered that way in society - I like that this book did not agree with that.

This book has received mixed reviews. I think that is because there is an incredible amount of detail around Egyptology. So much detail that my eyes seem to gloss over at times. Beneath that detail is a beautiful love story. There is also the story of a woman who is a death doula. I am a Hospice volunteer and found this part of the story fascinating, loving, and well described. Jodi Picoult can show all sides of a situation and make me think about my own life, opinions, and what do I believe. I found this book to be memorable, and I am grateful she is an author.

I love Jodi Picoult and so wanted to love this book but it was my least favorite.  I liked the parts with the characters and relationships but I just couldn’t get into the Egyptian parts.

Gotta love a novel featuring Egypt - especially when reading it while cruising up the Nile!

At first, I hated the way it ended. Shortly after, I found I really liked it.

I've been waiting for this book for so long...

Years ago, Ms. Picoult hinted that she was doing some book research in Egypt and I was so excited to learn that she was writing about characters that are Egyptologists. There is so much to this story that I couldn't possibly try to summarize it.

The book focuses on the "what if's" in life that one experiences after a nearly tragic accident.

Normally Ms. Picoult's books are told through several characters but this one is a little different as it is told through the eyes of one main character in different scenarios. I highly recommend it.
