This book made me literally laugh, smile, and at parts, gasp. It’s smart writing, honest romance, and set somewhere insanely cool. It follows Dawn between Boston and Egypt in a way that made me unsure if it was all real or separate timelines for her at first, and ending in a way I never saw coming.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought the Egyptology was going to be a challenge but it was fun. Love her writing.

Picoult is falling flat with a lot of her new releases. This book was WAY too heavy on the hieroglyphics/Egyptology angle. I understand it's really interesting to Picoult — not so interesting when you're writing about that but trying to jam in a half-hearted story on top of it. And the story itself is a little ridiculous. And on top of THAT, Picoult leaves the ending unresolved. Who will Dawn wind up with: the person she should or her emotionally manipulative husband?! This book is a messy midlife crisis!
