Loved the plot bump, kudos for the huge amount of well-researched Egyptology(much of which I skimmed) and boo for the ending. The Author Notes say she had a different ending planned and I would really like to read that!
Rounded up from 3.5 stars. It took me a while to get into this one. It was really heavy with very detailed information on Egyptology and Quantum Physics. But once I as hooked I enjoyed the story and the style in which it as written.
I am a big fan of Ms. Picoult's writing. While I found the egyptology information fascinating I found the main character to be shallow and self absorbed. All I could feel was empathy for her daughter, husband and Wyatt that they had the misfortune to be caught up in her immaturity.

It was great until there was no real ending. I didn’t read 400 pages to have no ending or even a hint at the decision made really.
Although sometimes a little confusing because of the jumps in time and place, I still enjoyed this book.
Picoult ended the book in a way that the reader could decide who the female protag chose to spend the rest of her life with (her husband or her first love), which I felt was a fair way to end it because if Picoult had chosen, some readers would have been disappointed and some readers would've been elated. Perhaps this could be viewed as the coward's way out, but....

Decent book. I appreciate how death is talked about because it is such a fear for many. I will say this was a bit wordy. I think the point could have gotten across without all the added research of Egyptology because I definitely felt my eyes glancing.
It took me at least 100 pages to realize this was the two ways her life could have gone

But which life did she choose in the end??!?!?!?!?!?
I did enjoy this story.

I’m giving this 4 stars but it may be closer to 3.75 since the ending (spoiler alert — I’ll discuss that below). Why I loved this book was the Egyptology references and following their journey to discovering a tomb. That was fascinating, and I wish there was more to that! So the ending….(scroll down for that)
Why didn’t she say whom she ended up with?!?! That drives me crazy when authors do that! I think I was routing more for Wyatt, but I started to like Brian more at the end. I hope that she weaves them into a future book so we know.
