Jodi's books are all very well researched and it shows, but sometimes there is just too much detail for me and this was the case with this book. It read like a textbook and was very slow at some points. I almost didn't finish it but I'm glad that I stuck with it because I ended up generally liking the story. It reminded me a bit of One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid with the love triangle. I also had never heard of a death doula before, which was the main character's occupation. The Land/Boston sections were my favorite of the book, and I found myself skimming over a lot of the Egypt stuff.

Really 3.5 stars. I could have done without all the Egyptology details. I didn’t get into it until I was almost halfway through it.

As with every Jodi Picoult book I have ever read,I loved this book! I am sucked into the first chapter and can’t put the book down.

Ok. Totally called Meret being Wyatt’s daughter. I know who I wanted her to pick, so that’s who she picked!
