Look when I read a Jodi Picoult book it’s because I want the Applebees version of reading- mildly pleasant at times with crap thrown in. Light reading. When I don’t want to invest in a series or really good reading. Something good enough to hold my interest. Not expecting a ton, but expecting at least average. She usually delivers at least this.
Why are her more recently written novels like she picked the “random” button on Wikipedia and then copied it onto pages, then tried to throw a romance in between that wasn’t good? Like???…Egyptology is cool. But I’m reading for pleasure and not to feel like I’m sitting in a boring college lecture.

I wanted to hate Dawn. She had everything and still wanted more.
I couldn't imagine being stuck between two loves.

Couldn’t get into this one like her others.
Just started the book and it already reads a bit too textbooky to me. I also don't like how she has a husband but has clearly been yearning after this guy for years. If your not over someone DONT GET MARRIED!
I enjoyed most of the book. It was fun to read a bit more about Egyptology, as it has always been of interest to me, and I liked seeing the many relationships unfold. It was an easy read. However…
Had the book ended at page 352, coming full circle, I would have probably given this book a higher review. At that point it felt like the book had ended and the rest of the story lost its attraction to me. I found myself skipping bits. The actual ending fell flat for me.

Dawn's life is torn between two loves, her current husband and her former old flame. There are times you root for both men in her life.
I "read" this as an audio book, which really worked well and was highly enjoyable. I read this based on Heidi's review, and I am so glad I did. I enjoyed all the Egyptian artifact information as well.

I’ve always enjoyed Jodi Picoult’s work - and although this one took me a little longer to finish than usual, I really enjoyed the storyline and the way it developed. I found Dawn a really engaging protagonist.
This is the first audiobook I’ve finished in a while. I liked it. The cliffhanger though
