Classic. Beautifully written critique of capitalism and class warfare. Even within the individual districts we see the impact of levels of poverty and scarcity on the human psyche. A staunch warning of a dystopian future all too similar to our reality for comfort. The romance subplot teases readers and shines a light on the relational fallout of trauma and hypervigilance. I saw the movies when the first came out in the 2010’s, but hadn’t gotten around to reading the books. Highly recommend.

This was actually an amazing read icl. I started it some days ago, completed 9% of it, then picked it up again yesterday and finished it early this afternoon. Wonderful stuff. 10/10 would recommend

I watched the movies before I read these books so the story provided more details and answered some questions I had. Symbolism is a powerful tool in this story utilized well alongside strong character development abd captivating dystopian romance. Katniss’ emotional complexity is interesting to see unravel.
