Issue 5 of Mothership Zeta is another strong issue as this great quarterly magazine enters its second year. This issue again has brilliant cover art - this time by Elizabeth Leggett.

If you've read a previous issue of Mothership Zeta, you know what to expect. Otherwise, If you're new to the zine - you can look forward to a mix of short fiction, articles and essays from a diverse host of voices. In this issue, my favourite entries were;

Noteworthy Customer Service, Example 12: Mendoza and Squeakybuns by Laura Perlman - This is a very fun (although sadly very short) cat and mouse story, told In the form of a chain of sent emails. Trust me, it's brilliant.

Rescue by Sarah Gailey - Another story featuring Baxter, a demons best friend! This story is a sequel to Bargain by Sarah Gailey - a story that debuted in issue 1 of this same zine. Baxter is a good doggo Brant!

The Indigo Ace and the High-Low Split by Annalee Flower Horne - I'm a sucker for a good super hero/super power story, and this isn't just good - It's bloody fantastic. More please?

The Penelope Qingdon by Aidan Moher - A charming story of friendship, young love and a magical land in a basement that is filled with mystery and adventure.

There were several other stories in this issue that were also great, but the above listed stories are the ones that really got me excited. I really think there's something for everyone in each issue of Mothership Zeta.
