This was so intense and I took my sweet time, cause I knew it was going to be so good and so thrilling and nervewracking and intense. And it was. I was not let down. Love this duology.

4.5 ☆ but it’s teetering very close to 5, might update again after i’ve had a few days to process
i was so tentative going into this book bc how could you possibly follow up the masterpiece that is the girls i’ve been? i felt like anything else would just pale in comparison, and i am overjoyed to say i was wrong. the girl in question is one of, if not the, best sequels i’ve ever read in my life.

iris and nora!!!!! my perfect uhaulers i love you so much. they want each other so bad it sends my head spinning. their relationship is so well written, i feel confident in saying they’re some of the best sapphic representation i’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across in written media.

plot wise the pacing and reveals remain consistent with that of the first book, so it’s easy to read them back to back without it feeling disjointed. there were multiple occasions where the plot twists were SO good i had to put the book down and walk away to recover.

adored the multiple povs, being able to hear wes and iris’s perspectives added so much to the story and to their characters (who stayed true and complex and well rounded throughout which i feel like is SO hard to do in sequels).

my baby turbo was the perfect addition to the beautiful little found family they’ve all created together. i would go to war for all of them.
i truly couldn’t imagine reading a better closure to nora’s story.

And Nora was supposed to be normal. But Nora’s not a role anymore. She’s … me.
