The last chapter saved this book. I think that often times, stories can be told with less words to make it more powerful. This is one book that would have benefitted from more editing.

A well done backstory to one of Alice in Wonderland's darkest characters.

This book left me devastated. I was rooting for, hoping for and shipping Catherine and Jest, even though I knew it was doomed from the beginning. It didn't go/end as I thought it would, but their fate became even worse. The beginning is really slow and I had to get through that (one of the two reasons I only gave it 3.5 stars), but once I got through that, I loved it! The other reason I only gave it 3.5 stars, is that I sometimes felt Cath could have stepped up more, but I guess that's her character, but still. Read it for yourself... It left me heartbroken
