Marissa Meyer really showed off the depth of her wit with this one.

That said, I’m destroyed.

I gave Heartless 3 stars. As someone who loves retellings, I was really excited for this one—especially since it’s set in the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland. The idea of exploring the origin story of the Queen of Hearts sounded so full of potential.
Unfortunately, it just didn’t give me the feels I was hoping for. I really wanted to love it, but it fell flat for me. The world-building was imaginative, and there were some clever nods to Wonderland, but overall, the story felt like it was trying too hard. The emotional moments didn’t quite land, and I struggled to connect deeply with the characters.
While I appreciate the unique take on a beloved classic, Heartless didn’t sweep me away like I hoped it would. It had the right ingredients, but something was missing in the execution. Still, fans of darker fairy tale retellings might enjoy seeing how the Queen of Hearts came to be—just don’t expect too much whimsy or heart.

me ha gustadooo. ósea un poco cursi la historia de amor no nos vamos a mentir. pero me ha gustado la verdad. ósea es como muy buena historia y tiene sentido la evolución del personaje.

jest.... </3

I was gifted this by a friend and I have to say they did good lol.

It was super interesting and cool to learn how the Queen of hearts came to be. Though I feel so bad for everything she had to deal with. It wasn’t fair.

The ending was so freaking sad

After reading this book I think I’m officially giving up trying to like Marissa Meyer’s books. I was constantly annoyed by all the characters and their extremely dumb decisions but what did it for me was ALL of them going back to Hearts knowing exactly what would happen.
