I used this for "Welcome to Kindergarten" storytime and it was great! I love the diverse representation of cultures and abilities in the illustrations too.

Emmet starts kindergarten this year, so he was all about this fun and interactive new picture book from @megosphere and @thelucyruth! We especially loved the call and response portions of the book and looking through the bright and colorful illustrations to find activities Emmet and his friends enjoy when at school. He was fascinated by the idea of a class pet - a bunny! - and loved seeing what it was doing on many pages.

As a librarian and educator, I really like what this book is doing in terms of promoting a positive energy and establishing a shared language and sense of collaboration through the use of call and response, which makes it an ideal classroom read for lower elementary-aged students. Plus, there is a self-portrait art project the class in the book participates in in the final pages of the story (a wall of life-size self-portraits) that would be so easy to recreate!
