Wish I could give it 3.5 stars. It seemed pretty slow until halfway in and then it got better - or maybe I was just used to the slow story and it didn't bug me as much. It kept me wondering until the end. I see her 5th book just came out so I'll probably read that one. It seems like her stories are hit or miss with me.

Tana French does it again! I love this series. I liked this book less than The Likeness, but better than Faithful Place. Solid.

The depiction of teenage female friendship rang true for me.

I won this book via Goodreads First Reads.

I've read all of Tana French's novels and I've enjoyed all of them. This book is no exception. It is a brilliant who done it. I would recommend the entire series to anyone who's a fan of crime fiction.

Disappointingly simple for a Tana French. Wayyyy too much time spent in the flashbacks, especially since it often only “revealed” information that had already been figured out in present day.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Never quite had enough time available to get as lost in it as I'd like, but still excellent. Added a touch of supernatural this time, which I didn't honestly love (odd as I usually do), but captures the magic of first friendship love very well.
