This romance was just super boring and I didn’t feel like continuing. The main character was cringe as well.

Yes, that quickly. When there's a line about the wind closing the door as she's falling asleep and then two pages later she's shrieking because a chicken is roosting on the bedframe and she's making a mental note to make sure the door is closed in the future... Life is too short to read books this badly edited.

I liked the premise and it started out good but both characters became so unlikeable to me… the keeping secrets was so ridiculous. There were pieces I enjoyed, the setting and the owner of the pub Grace were the best bits.
I do not understand the secret between Ruby and Anne, why is Ruby more loyal to a woman she JUST met than her partner and the lady who provided her home, got her visa, and is the reason she has a cookbook. And why is Anne asking a stranger to hide something from her partner, who is also your ex boyfriend. The whole situation made me so mad. But honestly I think the thing that made me the most mad was Brochan not picking her up from the airport with zero communication, essentially abandoning her at an airport in a foreign company.. I’d never forgive that.
