"and so it did. And so they did."

kill me ⚰️

Ok I wrote that before I finished it bc I was dying. It's not strictly closed door throughout. This was corny in a good way, like a Christmas movie. It's not *good* persay but I had a good time with it.

I don’t think the author has ever spoken to a real Scottish person in her life. I got bored.

A gal has a 35-year-old-life-crisis and moves to Scotland to pursue a creative project and meets a bearded Scottish man and fines a new family of misfits trying to save their small town? Absolutely.

This is such a cute book. The premise has me questioning all my life choices and half-planning to run away to Scotland myself when I turn 35. I loved the cast of characters and the small-town setting. The leads had sweet chemistry together (and tons of yearning). The conflict kind of had me eye-rolling, but that's almost to be expected within the romcom genre these days, I'm afraid. Overall: I'd recommend if you're in the mood for something earnest and sweet.
