The drawings were pretty enough, but I couldn't get into a story. The non-linearness (I think. If it was linear, then maybe it deserves 1 star) confused me, and I just couldn't get into the story or care about anyone. Also, I was constantly distracted by the perfectly formed speech bubbles and regular font used in the lettering.

Would someone please tell me the "terrible secret" this story supposedly reveals? I didn't find anything shocking about it.

Beautifully produced. Historical fiction about caretakers of art in Paris during World War II. Black and white art, with distinctly different art styles for the characters and the art pieces.
But I wanted more. I wanted more gooshy detail, more background, more explicit explaining about who these people were, what they were actually doing with the art. This is a fascinating topic, and a really interesting period of history and I want this story told, but I feel like the manner of this piece is just a bit too obscured to really connect with many people.
Beautiful piece of art, though.

I like the simplicity of the drawing style and it fit well with the storyline. The storyline itself, however, was very confusing. I wasn't sure what was happening most of the way and at the end I was still very confused.

I never really got into this. It has incredible potential, but as I worked through the story I just felt like it wasn't doing much more than posturing.

Waffling on this one. Can't figure out if the plotting obscures too much or just enough. Probably deserves a re-read.

I wanna read it again, feels like it would benefit with one, but it almost reminds me of a Bergman movie in terms of structure and tone. Love Stuart’s art and Kathryn’s dialogue and sense of story is nice. I like the structure quite a bit and always appreciate a nice base 6 panel layout.

I really enjoyed this. The authors do a great job of creating and increasing tension through the whole work. We get glimpses of the characters inner lives, but I would like even more. Reccomended.
