Once again, beautiful writing and a beautiful translation. Showing the innate loneliness of being a sexual minority in a place where it only got decriminalised two decades ago. Growing up, not knowing who to trust, but also not knowing whether you can fully be yourself around the people you care about. It's lonely, and this book captures that beautifully.
The prose is stunning, clear, humorous, and distinct. There are a bunch of beautiful quotes, with one of my favourites being: " Sometimes his very existence to me is the existence of love itself. "

This is such a raw and heartbreaking story of the one who got away... Park's writing is unadulterated and honest in a way I really enjoy, even though I don't particularly enjoy Hur's translation.

I really enjoyed this, and I'm excited to check out Park's other works. I know this book is going to stay with me for a long time.. 아 ㅅㅂ.. 영씨가 규호를 놓아주는 것을 생각하면 마음이 아프다.. ㅠㅠㅠ
