I think if i would’ve read this quicker i would’ve loved it more, but life gets in the way. Just sad the way girls always become victims, Are you awake? Anyway loved it!

Atmospherically phenomenal— a sweltering small midwestern town post bust. I do love the interwoven perspectives and the building of this community (even if they don’t know it). That being said, this needed a heavier edit. Gunty had some wonderful and weird storylines but some didn’t come together in the way I wanted, we lost some for half the book, and it felt like she just thought of a book and supplemented it with character studies she had written before.
