Half the reason I enjoyed and wanted reading this book was the introduction written by none other than Markus Zusak (I know, I need to read the book thief....someday), the other half because it was short and nice and included wonderful stories with morals behind them and almost all of them are forgotten today.

Not the light, cheerful collection I was expecting but that is more a problem with my expectations than with the stories.

Oscar Wilde's 'The Happy Prince and Other Tales' is a classic collection first published in 1888, featuring five stories that captivate readers of all ages. While well-written and occasionally humorous, the tales also carry moral lessons, albeit with a touch of preachiness. It's remarkable how Wilde, known for his comedic plays, seamlessly transitions to poignant narratives, showcasing his versatility as a writer.
