This book was okaayyyy… maybe I misread the type of book it was. The cover made me think romance fiction, but it was more so women improvement, finding self, etc. which is cool, but I hoping for romance and it was only a dash of it.

Overall it was a decent book that explored Neale’s adult life trying to navigate adult responsibilities and building a grown woman relationship with her sisters. Neale was able to find a job, move out, and conquer her fears. At the end, she able to finally make a decision after constant indecisiveness throughout the entire book. That’s the main thing I didn’t like, it was getting annoying and old. I still believe Neale still doesn’t truly believe in herself, but hopefully she’ll gain that confidence.

Honestly this didn't end up being what I expected from the description and I really struggled through it. I spent the first hundred page waiting for it to get going before I realised that it wasn't really going to do much more than tick along.

By the end I was glad it wasn't a DNF for me. But it was just a fairly passive story about Neale, an artist who's floundering and figuring out what she wants to do next. I didn't quite feel the growth the author was clearly trying to portray and I didn't like Neale any more by the end. It's a shame because there was a kernal of something there. Ok for a travel companion I'd say but not one I'd recommend for your next proper read.

This is well written women’s fiction with new adult romance energy. I sympathized with the clumsy, lost, anxious main character but found the story kinda boring, honestly. Her overbearing sisters seemed awful and I wanted her to tell them to fuck off, honestly.
